Flood Protection and Riprap Design — Gojalti, Ghizer

The design features 8 ft high riprap revetments with a 1:3 slope, extending 3 ft below grade for toe stability. Rock sizes range from 1–3 ft with a D50 of 2.25 ft, and the design includes compacted filters and 8 ft riprap blanket thickness for resilience. The layout follows ASCE and USACE guidelines for revetment and riverbank protection. This intervention enhances flood resilience, protects residential infrastructure, and preserves remaining agricultural lands. It empowers the local community by incorporating their input and labor in construction planning. Services: Flood hazard assessment, socio-economic impact study, riprap design, hydraulic modeling. Keywords: Chitral, flood mitigation, debris flow, erosion control, AKAH, Bendcrete.
