Structural Design of Steel Composite Beam System

Bendcrete Construction Services delivered a comprehensive structural analysis and
design for a single-story steel-composite structure located in Kuala Lumpur. The structure
features post-tensioned concrete beams acting as primary framing elements, with hotrolled steel beams used as secondary members.
The project’s main objective was to optimize the steel beam system for cost-efficiency
while preserving safety and compliance. The structural design followed AISC standards,
with the analysis conducted under ASCE 7-16 and IBC 2021 codes to ensure seismic and
gravitational performance under local conditions.
This design approach balances performance, economic viability, and ease of construction
producing a robust steel-concrete hybrid system tailored to client needs.
